From an article sent in by a friend of MNB:

“Luther?s wife Catherine was a skilled brewer and his love letters to her when they were apart lamented his inability to drink her beer.”

The entire article outlines Mars Hills Church’s stance on alcohol
. I happen to agree with it. The article is friggin‘ sweet, so make sure to check it out. And now, a Luther-related parting shot:

“Martin Luther explained the entire reformation as ??while I sat still and drank beer with Philip and Amsdorf, God dealt the papacy a mighty blow.?”

  • This beer-loving papist would like to remind you boys that whatever can be said against the papists, at least we never worked to prohibit the good drink.

  • Hey, nothing against the papists. And you’re right about the Prohibition. That one cuts deep.

For what it’s worth, I apologize for my non-Papist predecessors.
