To boot, crossing them a) resembles the crossbones of Swashchuckler, and b) is too aggressive, as if a lumberjack must assert his badasssness. As one who has been described as lumberjackish, I think the presence of an axe, casually laid over a shoulder or up against something else, is its own intimidation.
