Happy Labor Day! (MNB cancelled tonight)
We’ll be taking a break from brewing this Monday to bust out the burgers (and beer). Fortunately, I come bearing gifts. I bring you Andy’s handiwork from last night.
Turns out our friend Andy fancies himself a chef. He just bought a book on food and beer pairings, and decided to try it out on us last night. We didn’t have any Monday Night beer on hand because Joel was mysteriously “out-of-town,” so we paired Lagunitas Maximus IPA with Andy’s braised pork chops with orange zest and jalapeƱo glaze, stuffed chorizo poblano peppers and corn pudding:

It was delightful. But the real feather in the cap was dessert: a dark chocolate souffle with vanilla bean ice cream, paired with Rogue Shakespeare Stout. Andy, you truly are a pretty good guy.

And on that note, happy Labor Day. We’ll be brewing next week, and we have it on good notice that Jeff, that endangered species of a brewmaster, will be joining us. (Just kidding, we love you, Jeff).
If you’re bored today, take a picture of some beer-related activity and send it to pix [at] mybeerpix.com. The good folks at My Beer Pix have opened up their blog to everyone for this weekend only.

Andy Chern: an above average fellow if there ever was one
That stuff looks great but it can’t be as good as the rice and egg I had. I miss MNB over here. So far the only beer i’ve had is called “snow beer” and tastes a little worse than your average PBR. Send the brews overseas!
