The quiet before (and after) the storm

Cool guys with tons of friends

Usually after brewing on Mondays Jeff, Joel and I crack open a beer or two and collect ourselves ? our thoughts on the night’s events, future plans, updates on our lives. Last Monday it was just me and Jeff, but we still managed to have a good conversation, even without Joel giggling every time someone said the word “duty.”There are periods of time when we are all busier than normal and have fewer resources to dedicate to brewing. Now is one of those times. In fact, the only reason I’m able to compose this semi-thoughtful post is because I accidentally showed up an hour early for a client meeting and don’t have internet access. Jeff and I are both working a lot at our full-time jobs, and Joel is currently in Japan collecting Hello Kitty paraphernalia.

You may have even noticed the blog slipping lately. I’ve had precious little time to give Travis the “what for,” and I recently mistakenly claimed that Bryan Adams was the only good musician to come out of Canada. I can’t believe I forgot about Celine Dion…

Fortunately, in spite of everything going on in life, the three of us still make it a priority to gather together and catch up. Because more than business partners we’re friends. Hopefully we’ll never have to make a choice between those two extremes. I honestly don’t know which I would choose. Usually, and Monday was no exception, I come away from these talks excited about the future. Yes, this is what all three of us want to do with our lives. Yes, it has been a lot of hard work lately, and will only get harder. Yes, I am awesome.

So I guess this is my way of saying thanks to everyone for sharing in our journey. We’re still almost 2 years away, but we’ve been encouraged by your support. Atlanta ? nay, the South ? needs more great beer!

Sure to garner the love of music critiques everywhere.

Enough said.

That’s what SHE said

We didn’t brew last night, but we did congregate, transfer 40 gallons of beer, and drink. Jeff and I both realized that we really DO miss Joel, even if we tend to rag on him [incessantly] on this blog. I especially miss his unemployitude right now, as he has plenty of time to devote to brewing. Unless, of course, he’s in Japan or something.

Regardless, last night was relaxing and low-key… until Chris came by with a special present for me:

As you can imagine, the rest of the night was devoted to thinly-veiled sexual innuendos. And more drinking (the Avery Salvation Ale is quite delicious).

Q: Are we brewing tonight?

A: Technically, no. But to the untrained eye, we will be brewing as scheduled. We will be drinking and performing beer-related shenanigans. Feel free to stop by!

Donut learns some manners

Okay, not beer-related. But check out Donut’s new trick. She’s ready for a formal dinner!

Not a Bryan Adams fan? We don’t care.

Bryan Adams, patron saint of Monday Night Brewery, is ON THE LOOSE.

Bryan, heretofore known as “The Only Canadian That We Like,” is coming out with a new single from his upcoming album (titled 11) January 28. Yep, that’s Monday. Coincidence? In this case, yes. But it’s a money coincidence, thus confirming our suspicions that Monday keeps it real.

Make sure to drop by Monday while we try to figure out a way to listen to Bryan’s new song over the loudspeakers. We may as well brew beer while we’re there too.

Another brewery on the Westside

Well, not “brewery” per se… More like brewpub. 5 Seasons Brewpub is opening up another location:

The exciting 5 Seasons Westside, our newest and most ambitious 5, is now rising at the intersection of Howell Mill Road and Marietta Street. Watch for a Grand Opening early in 2008.

Hopefully this will help to tide you Westsiders over until MNB gets going.
