A/B logo testing: revised MNB logo based on your feedback
First off, I hereby declare this week THE WEEK OF THE LOGO. Second, I went back and revised the logo based on some of the feedback that kept cropping up:
- Loosen the tie a bit
- Unbutton the top button
So. Which do you prefer? A or B? Click to see the image larger. Vote in the poll, leave any other feedback as a comment. Thanks guys. I can’t think of too many other businesses that can mass tackle these kinds of decisions to make sure we launch with the best possible product and packaging.

Haven’t you ever taken an Internet poll before? Where’s the obligatory gag option!? (j/k) Those are hard to decide on though. I think A is more appealing with its clean look, but B supports the MNB ideals better. I voted B all the same.
A is way better. It’s subtler. The second one looks less like the tie is loose and more like your collar is just 2 inches too short on each side.
I think A is plenty loose, it looks like you just pulled it off you neck for comfort, but not like you’re one Bud away from wearing it on your head.
But maybe if you want the tie to look looser you could lower the knot a bit so it’s not still up around the neck.
Love the logo, but I can’t help but feel like he should have a mug in his hand (like your monk friend does), as if giving a toast to a good day’s work, good friends, and good beer. Maybe a few drops of the liquid sustenance spilling out due to his enthusiastic cheer. But this “before” shot works too.
imho, B is a much clearer representation of of the MNB philosophy. Looks like other people think so as well.
I voted A because I like the tie better. It is a little wrinkled and unkempt. I also like the obvious button down collar on the left. On the other image, the tie looks like it is more formal and swept to one side and the knot looks like he tied it after drinking a few bottles of barleywine before work
LOVE the new ideas in general but i’m gonna have to agree with The Goche.
i went w/ B, but it still needs a bit of work. agree w/ goche as far as the short collar, make the top edge more defined or crisp and thin out the black crescent shape on his left collar
I think B better communicates your “brand message”, as the kids say.
Although I also agree with the short collar comment, now that someone mentioned it. And the idea of him holding a beer mug isn’t bad either.
I like B, but the portion of the tie above the knot needs to be a little wider. It looks little bit like the kind you wear with a tuxedo. Might tighten the knot up a little to make it somewhere between A and B. Overall, great image though.
You should have a poll that says…”Do you agree with The Goche?”…
The results would overwhelmingly be yes. I can only assume that that applies to most subjects.
Unless you want to give a ‘drinking-on-the-job’ impression, B is infinitely better. I like!
Can I still make a guess as to the reference of the logo? Then, I guess Rushmore.
I like the second one, primarily because I don’t think the average person strolling by the beer would even pick up on the fact that the tie is loosened. And I nay the beer-in-hand..he’s going to be on a beer bottle..it’s a foregone conclusion that he’s pumping his fist for beer.
A for sure. It looks like he stumbled into a bar serving your beer, and said “YES! THIS IS IT!”
Thanks for being open to feedback. I also like the B concept better in theory and would like to see a mug or similar representation.
A is making a strong comeback.
it was 90-10 yesterday, now 86-14. you just give this a few more months and I see A pulling ahead.
