Alabama legislature on beer
Sean from Fullsteam left this as a comment, but it’s too good not to post. First, I have no way of verifying this (and believe me, I tried). But this is allegedly the audio from Alabama Representative Alvin Holmes (D) arguing against the beer law last year.
Enjoy.

With leaders like that how can we go wrong? Isn’t ignorance wonderful?
Ignorant and conceited.
It is scary people like this are elected to office! Calling beer activists “People from Germany”??! Scary!
Looks like it is real. It’s from the Free the Hops video which highlights all the people who spoke for it.

Is that the way people “really” sound like in the south…? I always thought that was just in the movies. In all seriousness, I can’t believe these people run our country!
Marcus, SOME Southerners sound like caricatures of themselves. Most do not. Urban areas (such as Atlanta) are usually an exception to the rule. But there’s a reason why the stereotype is a stereotype.
Yup I can verify, I was listening to the audio feed last year when he said this. Sad, very sad
