Sam was one of the major characters in the film.  Great stuff and I highly recommend the film if you get a chance to buy or rent it.  See my thoughts, share your thoughts at holzbrew.blogspot.com

As for the DIPA you guys are brewing, love the ABV and IBU levels, sounds similar in size and flavor profile to the new Sierra Torpedo Extra IPA.
