Revised Eye Patch Ale label
I’m looking for your feedback. Does this eye patch look better than the the original? I left the sides of the label off, so disregard that. We are just looking at the actual eye patch itself. Comments appreciated!

The strap looks too high on the right side. I know you may have done that on purpose, but there’s a very clear ear line on the dude; and the strap is too far away from that.
yes, lots mo’ better.
Looks good to me.
Now you just need to send us all samples of the beer and you can individually respond to feedback on each sample you send out!
I second that the eye strap is too high on the right side. But other than that the label looks damn good.
The patch shape looks much better, but the strap wouldn’t disappear into short hair like it did into that guys long wavy tresses I don’t think. Maybe you could continue the strap out and change your silhouette to have the hair dip in as though it were pressed down where the strap pressed on it… A thought. Love everything else about the labels you guys have… classy.
I do think it’s better. I think it’s more realistic. Very nice label!
It?s call eye patch ale so we see your logo wearing one. Then your next beer he will be wearing a kilt, or something plaid. But he?s still a businessman and only drinks during the week. Have you thought out what he will be doing with your other up coming beers? And are you going to have to base the names of said beers after things that he can be doing? Just some things to think about, and in no way trying to be harsh, trying to help.
Looks much better than it did before. Right side doesn’t bother me at all. Rock!
I agree with VernieVW. The right side looks good. If you really want to communicate the pirate theme, you could have a parrot sitting on his left shoulder. For all of us who read the blog regularly, we know the pirate lore surrounding this ale. but for someone who sees it for the first time at the package store, there is nothing that says “Pirate.” It just looks like an aggressive guy in a suit with a bad eye….in which case, one might think “weird beer name” and not be drawn in by the intended allure of “piratey-ness.”
Of course, with recent negative press surrounding pirates, this might be a quietly-planned strategic move towards visually handicapped professionals and away from pirates?
By left shoulder, I mean my left, his right.
Pirates? I’m excited about the one where his hand will be a hook!
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Regarding the right side being too high, I think it actually needs to be high to avoid his eye. I developed the eye patch on a non-silhouette picture for this purpose.
Cat, you raise a good point.
Nick, you’re dead on. You’re actually not being harsh at all, but instead describing our label strategy!
As an aside:
Scotch Ale. Plaid tie. ‘Nuff said.
[...] for all of your feedback on our first label. Now it’s time for Round 2. FINISH HIM! [...]
