What was the first beer you ever had?

Mine was a tepid Rolling Rock. It was terrible. Ready… GO!

  1. Probably Natural Light. Does Zima count?

  2. Miller Lite. I was 2 years old. There are pictures.

  3. Probably the LowenBrau I stole from my grandparents’ fridge when I was about 12…

  4. Mine was Newcastle. Still one of my favorite go-to beers I can find easily almost anywhere.

  5. A Budweiser a long time ago. My dad let us kids have sips.

  6. for me, it was Lone Star… we had recently moved to Texas and my dad was drinking the local stuff… I think I was 8, maybe 9.

  7. Red Dog. I took a sip in Saint Martin when I was 8. I promptly spit it out (under water in the jacuzzi).

  8. Budweiser. Stole a sip from my dad’s when I was a wee lad.

  9. I think J.W. Dundee’s Honey Brown.

  10. Probably Strohs. A sip was the reward for fetching a cold one from the fridge for the old man.

  11. Labatt Blue, probably. Honestly, I’ve still never had Bud, Miller or Coors (proper; I’ve had Blue Moon) with the exception of the Bud Light my brother in law handed me at a picnic that I was too polite to scoff at.

  12. Icehouse.

  13. PBR in a can, down at the river at High Shoals, hanging out on the edge of a bunch of college kids. One of ‘em asked if I wanted a beer and I said ’sure’. I got about 3/4 of it down before I gave up.

  14. Took a sip of Coors Light when I was about 5 or 6 :P. First full beer was a Heineken.

  15. Kirin Ichiban – It’s #1 for a reason.

  16. Schlitz, from Dad’s can when I was really young.

  17. Fosters…no reason why…And now that I think about it, I haven’t had one since…

  18. Some nasty German Pils that put funk on my teeth.

  19. Coors @ age 4 with my Pops & Uncle by a pool – first time I had anything carbonated ever, threw up like no other.

First local brew was a Schells @ age 14

  20. Milluh. Genuine Draft.

  21. Old Style. My Pop would come home from work in the summertime and announce that he was “powerful thirsty”. My brother and I would race to the downstairs fridge to get him an icy cold Old Style. We would each get a couple of sips. I still drink one occasionally, usually watching the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

  22. Miller High Life!

  23. I in the same boat as Jeff. A Miller Lite as a toddler.

  24. Red Dog. My first impression was, “How do people like this stuff?”

  25. I’m pretty certain it was Bud Light. Probably why I now think it is one of the worst creations ever made.

  26. Miller Genuine Draft @ 16

  27. Miller Genuine Draft as well @ 18. Courtesy of Gladys Patino (pastor’s mother-in-law) at 9:00 in the morning in Miami, FL.

  28. Kirin Nama Bi~ru! at the Nojiri town city officials luncheon.

  29. Childhood tastings aside…
I went to Germany on a foreign exchange at the age of 16. On that trip, I made up for the previous 16.5 years of abstinence.

During that trip and subsequent trips to Germany I also gained a respect for the greatness of lagers, which are about as popular as buttered-popcorn jelly beans around here.

  30. Kirin in Nojiri – That’s a great place for a first beer Levi.

  31. milwalkee’s best, light. courtesy of frat row.

  32. Corona.

  33. MGD

  34. Mine was a PBR from a returnable bottle, my grandfather gave me some, I was probably 10 or 12. At least that’s the first one I remember.

  35. First beer was in Prague, Czech Republic on a mission trip. I had been 21 about 5 months and decided it was time. I had not only a beer (I think a similar to a Pilsner Urquell), but it was at least a 32 oz glass/stein/thing. Hated it, but drank every drop. To have a Czech beer as my first, in the Czech Republic, as someone who is from mostly Czech background, it meant a lot.

  36. 3 friends and I had some old dude go into the store for us and he came out with a sixer of Bud. 16 years old and i may have got half of one down. but i came around on it pretty quick after that
