Getting our act together

2010, as I’m sure you all marked on your calendars 3 years ago, is the year of Monday Night’s launch. And while we are still on track to launch this year, there is also much still left to do. Until now we’ve had business planning meeting approximately “whenever we needed to.” But now that we are wrapping up our launch recipes, which was one of the largest bottlenecks, we anticipate things moving more quickly.

In typical “annoying CEO” fashion, Jeff has instituted a weekly update meeting. Don’t worry, it’s on a weeknight. Just not a Monday night. This should help us juggle all of the moving parts that still need our attention (to varying degrees), including:

  • Licensing
  • Securing the right distributor
  • Ordering packaging and taps
  • Legal stuff
  • Financing
  • Buying kegs
  • Sales calls

We’re also hoping these weekly meetings will give us more internal accountability. And secretly, Jeff and I are hoping that Joel doesn’t use these meetings to update us on his latest American Girl doll addition. WE DON’T CARE THAT YOU JUST GOT JOSEFINA. WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT BEER.
