Ordering t-shirts is stressful

Okay folks. Stop growing and/or shrinking.
The first time we ordered t-shirts, we ran out of smalls and had a mountain of XLs.
Which meant that the second time we ordered t-shirts, we stocked up on smalls and didn’t order as many XLs.
But now we have a somewhat smallish mountain of smalls and are out of XLs. What gives? I have a few theories.
- Teensy tiny girls are always the first to buy fashion items, even if the “fashion item” is a “beer t-shirt”
- People realized that the XLs make for a comfy, cost-effective slanket once you sew on some sleeves
- Squirrel infestation
Hopefully we’ll get the sizes right on our next order of shirts. Note: S, M, and L shirts are still available for a measly $10 each!
No brewing this evening
Rest assured, we will be doing super secret Monday Night business planning instead. If that makes you feel any better.
It doesn’t, does it. Sorry.
HOToberFest was neither “HOT” nor “oberFest.” Discuss.

Ah, HOToberFest. It was a lot of fun last year, and it was a lot of fun this year. A highly recommended Atlanta-area beer festival. Sarah and I decided to accidentally wear the same exact shirt. We looked like idiots. Drunken idiots. Skipping through the festival. Moving on…

Notably, this was sweet little baby Oliver’s first beer festival. Oliver is Joel’s new lil’ man and brewer-in-training. It still surprises me how awesome Oliver is with a dad like Joel. It just goes to show you…
We had the opportunity to meet up with a lot of our buddies at HOToberFest, including John AKA @AtlantaBeer:

But here’s the thing. John and his wife were technically “VIP,” so we weren’t allowed behind the “fence.” At least they didn’t “flaunt it.” Oh wait…
No brewing tonight
No brewing tonight, folks. Look our for a HOToberFest update post later this week, however. Enjoy the cool weather, break out the cardigan!

Monday Night recap: “3 Days Late” edition
Oops. It’s Friday. Better late than on the weekend, that’s my motto.

We brewed up some Drafty Kilt Scotch Ale on Monday. Which would have been fine, except we ended up boiling off over 20% of our initial volume. Which is far more than normal. What does this mean? We won’t end up with the 1.070 OG beer we were targeting, but a 1.078 OG beer. We shall see how it drinks!
Also, the weather. It rained for probably half of the time. Fortunately Joel brought a cute little rain slicker. I wish I had taken a picture. It was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. One thing I did take a picture of was this:

This is a close-up of our fermentation chamber, which is currently cobbled together from 2 chest freezers, some duct tape, wood, and insulation. Methinks the “Energy Star” rating might now be a bit ambitious. Enjoy your weekend (like THAT’S possible). We’ll see you on the other side, basking in the glorious weekday sun.
