Logging in to Desk Jockey

We love India Pale Ales.

Join the club, right? That’s why we created the Hop Hut at our West Midtown taproom, and it’s why we’ve challenged our brewers to make the best IPAs in the southeast.  With the addition of several small fermenters to our brewhouse, we’ve been able to experiment with different  recipes over the past several months.

“(Co-founder and CEO) Jeff Heck challenged us, and we’re rising to the occasion,” said Head Brewer Ryan Cooley. “All of us on the brew team work on different IPA recipes, tweaking and making improvements to get it just where we want it to be. It keeps us super busy, but every time you walk in to our taproom, you’ll see something different on tap at the Hop Hut.’

Next up? Desk Jockey.

This double IPA was dry-hopped twice with a bevy of hops, including Simcoe, Denali, Citra, El Dorado and Mosiac. Pilsner, flaked oats and wheat provide the malt backbone. Although this double IPA has a bold aroma, it is soft and delicate on the palate.

With a balance of sweetness and a touch of resionous and dank hoppy notes, Desk Jockey counterbalances meat-lovers pizza, French fries, Kansas City barbecue or after a round of building spreadsheets. The flavor hides the 8.7% ABV well, making this one dangerously drinkable.

We didn’t make much, so the only spot to get it is in our taproom. We’re tapping Desk Jockey on July 12, 2019. It will be available on tap and in 16 ounce cans to go. Why just a taproom release? “I enjoy doing them. It’s us seeking direct feedback from our fans,” said Brewmaster Peter Kiley.
