NOW HIRING: TAPROOM GENERAL MANAGER

We are seeking a seasoned General Manager to join our tight-knit, growing team at our Monday Night Garage location. Reports to:

Director of Hospitality

High-Level Goals:

  • Maximize and grow taproom revenue (draft beer, to-go beer, merchandise, and private events) and profit at the Garage
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, hospitable environment for guests that furthers Monday Night’s core values and purpose
  • Oversee all taproom staff, including hiring, firing, training, professional development, and performance management
  • Execute all Garage programming and operations consistent with Monday Night’s brand

Responsibilities:

People

  • With assistance from the Director of Hospitality, lead all hiring, coaching, performance management, and firing for taproom team
  • Provide initial and ongoing training for staff to build product knowledge, exceptional service, and operational excellence
  • Schedule all public and private shifts using company-approved software to ensure an adequate balance of strong customer service and controlled labor costs
  • Ensure all time cards and tip reporting is accurate and completed in a timely fashion
  • Work public taproom shifts and provide real-time coaching, feedback, and oversight to staff
  • Identify and address customer concerns, complaints, and issues

Operations

  • Responsible for achieving revenue, expense, and capital expenditures budget
  • Ensure execution of all taproom Standard Operating Procedures, including opening and closing
  • Direct maintenance and upkeep of taproom, including cleaning, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, furniture, decor, draft lines, cooler, and equipment issues
  • Track and report KPIs to Director of Hospitality and ownership, including any issues, challenges, or opportunities identified
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Director of Hospitality to maintain calendar for all beer releases, events, and programming
  • Ensure all local, state, and federal laws are followed in public taprooms at all times
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory of all draft and packaged (to-go) beer, including providing feedback to Production on run-rates and anticipated needs to ensure full taps
  • Responsible for inventory of all merchandise, including providing feedback to Marketing on merchandise sales and ideas
  • Maintain displays of to-go beer and merchandise consistent with Monday Night brand standards, which will be set by Marketing
  • Develop and implement incentives, training, programs, and ideas to drive additional sales, including private events, draft, bottle-service, to-go, and merchandise
  • Maintain sufficient, orderly, and accurate glassware inventory
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales Department on taproom beer releases, events, and hosting retail and distributor partners in taproom
  • Support Private Events Director in developing ideas and initiatives to increase private event revenue and profitability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of bar / restaurant senior management experience
  • Proven track record of hiring, building, and growing strong and diverse teams
  • Business acumen, including the ability to utilize insights from P&L and KPIs to build actionable plans and drive results
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • High sense of urgency and energy
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS and back-office systems
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs

Compensation:

  • Salaried, competitive based on experience
